Stanley J. Kaplan

MBA Western New England College, B.S. Aeronautical Engineering Tri-State University. Affiliations: Tau Sigma Eta, Past Chairman of AIAA Air Transportation Committee, AIAA Aircraft Design Committee, Executive Committee Air Transportation Research International Forum (ATRIF), and Transportation Research Board.

Stan has been President of ROM Associates since 1993. He has led studies of commercial and military aircraft and engines, nacelles, apu’s, spare parts, bizjets and regional aircraft. During his prior 32 year career at Pratt & Whitney he held management positions in Strategic Planning, Marketing, and Engineering.

His professional background includes all facets of forecasting and market development with particular expertise in sales, competitive analysis, product assessment, and market development of new products. His engineering experience includes aerodynamic studies, aircraft design, test engineering, and product engineering. He has developed extensive industry contacts through participation in professional societies and as a speaker at international aviation associations.


Robert B. Burns

M.A. Economics University of Connecticut, B.A. American International College. Professional affiliations have included the Transportation Research Board, American Association of Business Economists, and Air Transport Management Institute.

Bob has been Vice-President and Chief Economist of ROM Associates since 1993. He has over 35 years experience in transportation and energy economics. He has been affiliated with Pratt & Whitney, Department of Transportation, Foster Associates, and Georgetown Transportation Research Institute. He has done market research studies for Anathon Transportation Research, Transportation Energy Research Inc., and Federal Express.

His broad range of experience includes research and analysis in intermodal competition, airline passenger and cargo demand, air and auto origin and destination studies, VSTOL, and energy demand, supply, and cost. He has coordinated U.S. and global economic simulations and forecasts using econometric models of WEFA, Chase Econometrics, DRI, and Evans Associates.
